Bucklands beach

I went to Bucklands beach.with room 14 and 13 and 12. I had a great time cleaning up the beach.

Te Tuhi

This is me at Te Tuhi.  I did some Art. I made a rocket with a very big trampoline.   I had a great time.  I want to go again.

Fractions

I am learning to recognise fractions of shapes and groups.

It was tricky to find the fractions of the groups.  I am proud that I can recognise 1/2 and 1/4.

Next I will practise at home.

3D shapes

I am learning about 3D shapes.  It was tricky to know which were the faces and which were the edges.    I am proud that I managed to describe some of the shapes.  Next I will try other shapes.

A pencil is made of wood and lead. 

The lead is in the centre of the wood. 

You hold a pencil in your hand. 

You write with a pencil.

A pencil has rubber on it. 

You can rub out with a rubber. 

My Reflection

I am learning how to write an explanation.

It was tricky to find information to explain a pencil.
I am proud that I now know how to explain a pencil.
Next I will be able to try to explain other objects.

The features of a Non-fiction Book.

Features of a Non-fiction Book.

1. A content page is where you find what is in the book
2. A index page is at the bake of the book.
3. A glossary gives the meaning of the words in the book.
4. There are more photographs than drawings in the book  because it is a real story.
5. They have labels to explain the diagrams.

My Reflection.

I am learning about the features of a non-fiction text.

It was tricky to answer all of the questions about the non-fiction text.

I was proud that I now know where the contents page is and what it is there for.

Next I will use this knowledge in other non-fiction texts. 

2D shapes

I am learning about 2D shapes.  It was tricky to find the angles. I was proud when I finished it.  Next I can find and describe 2D shapes at home.

This is me balancing on my bike.  I am learning to ride my bike.  I love scooting.   I want to do it again.

This is my mother's day poem.  My mum likes it and I like it too.

I am learning to solve multiplication and division problems. This is the strategy that I am using. I  must learn my multiplication division tables.

I was learning about nouns, verbs and adjectives.  It was tricky to find the words.  I was proud that I eventually managed.  Next I will practise at home.

I was learning to find important information from a non-fiction text. I found it tricky to use my own words. I was proud that I found the information.  Next I will use this skill again.

I am learning to make tidy tens to help me solve my addition equations.

Reflection

I am learning to make tidy tens.  At first it was tricky to make the tidy ten.  Now I am proud that I am using a Stage 5 strategy.   Next I can practise a home.

I used a Stage 4 strategy to solve the equation. Next I must learn how to breakup the numbers to help me solve the equation.

I was making a lolly lei and I was with Vaelei.  She did all the knots and I put the lollies in the net.  Then we finished.  This is a picture of the class and me wearing the lolly leis.

I am learning to use descriptive words in my writing.  It is tricky to find enough suitable words.  I was proud when I finally finished.  Next I am going to try to use a dictionary to help me.
